Our Guidelines and Rules
Using boats in windy weather can be dangerous, even on large inland waters.
We have clear guidelines and Rules in place to protect the safety of anglers, staff and other reservoir users when conditions are less than favourable.

Local wind gusts and wind direction must be taken into account – an app such as Windy or the Met Office weather data for Abbots Bromley will provide local information and should also be checked each day. If in doubt, please call the Duty Bailiff on 07974 263338.
The decision of the Duty Bailiff is final.
2 ADULTS (18 & OVER) SHARING A BOAT
A constant wind speed of 25mph and above
1 ADULT (18 & OVER) IN A BOAT
A constant wind speed of 18mph and above
ADULT & JUNIOR (UNDER 18) IN A BOAT
A constant wind speed of 18mph and above
Important Note –
Please be aware that winds from the North, North-East and East blow directly in to the boat moorings.
Therefore we reserve the right to delay or cancel boats if the wind drection and speed make it unsafe to move in or out of the mooring area.
Lifejackets must be worn at all times whilst on the mooring pontoons or on a boat.
